Filming Begins
So here we are. A few hours away from starting filming Booked Out. Feels like a long way from just over a year ago when I finished the script but everything is in place now and we are just all itching to get the cameras rolling. We start at 7AM in St. Pancras train station where we film our first scene before traveling back to our flat location where we will stay for the rest of the week but first I will try and summarise what I have been up to this week.
I can’t really remember what happened on each day but I have spent the majority of the week doing a few things. We spent a lot of time checking out locations for all of the different venues that we require within the film. We now have about 80% of those in place thanks to Martin and James in our locations department. The rest we will have to find as we shoot.
On Wednesday we had a rehearsal for our swing dance routine where the only space available at Elstree was the George Lucas stage. So we had about five people in one little corner of this massive space doing Lindy Hop. We filmed a bit of it so once all of this filming business is done I will get some footage together and up on the website.
I went to visit our flat yesterday which our production design team have transferred into Mrs Nicholls flat. It wasn’t finished when I was there but was looking really good. The team have worked wonders to create a really visually interesting space.
The rest of the time I have spent with Jordan trying to work out how we are going to shoot the film. Its a bit hard without definite locations but we have a pretty good idea of what we want to do or at least we know what we are doing on the first day.
So there you go… just a year after completing the script we are on the verge of starting to film. I can’t wait to get onto set tomorrow and to make the film come to life. Maybe its just me but I really believe that this can be a special film that people will want to watch. I guess I have to believe that!
Just wanted to sign off by saying thanks to everyone who has supported the film in whatever way over the past year. Your help means a lot to me and this films for you!
